Kate Blackmore is a screen-based artist working across contemporary art, anthropological and cinematic contexts. Her projects aim to extend the theoretical limits of what is traditionally mean by the term ‘documentary’ and often take the form of multi-channel installations. Since 2007 Blackmore has been a key member of artist collective Barbara Cleveland whose artistic, curatorial, publishing and educational projects are influenced by queer and feminist methodologies. Blackmore’s solo and collaborative projects have been shown at the Hayward Gallery (London); Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney); Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane); 20th Biennale of Sydney; Art Gallery of NSW (Sydney); and National Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art (Seoul). Blackmore currently works as a producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation where she creates art focused documentaries.
