Mary Zweifel is an American anthropologist, educator, and filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany. In 2005, she graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in International Studies - Anthropology. She later earned an M.A. in International and Multicultural Education with a concentration in Human Rights Education from the University of San Francisco, and holds certificates in Video Production (SAE Institute, Berlin) and Peace and Conflict (UPEACE, Costa Rica). Mary co-organized the University of San Francisco's Human Rights Film Festival for six years, while serving as the Director of Administration of the M.A. in International Studies Program. Previous fieldwork connected her with contemporary artists in Ghana and women peacebuilders in Uganda. Her current work addresses issues of migration in Europe, exploring collaborative and experimental ethnographic film practices with a young asylum-seeker from Burkina Faso.
