Tami, born in 1983 in Tel-aviv, Israel, majored in film studies in high school and at the Tel-Aviv University, and graduated from both with honors. While practicing both directing and scriptwriting, Tami focused mainly on video editing, working in various fields - documentaries, prime time television shows, music videos, fiction films and others. In 2007 she was awarded a scholarship of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation in the field of editing. Editing the award-winning German feature film Unbelehrbar while still in Israel led Tami to move to Berlin in 2010. In 2013 Tami completed her MA studies in Visual and Media Anthropology in the Freie Universität Berlin (final grade: A, excellent). As part of her studies she began directing and editing her own filmic works. Her short ethnographic film Home in Mind premiered at the 2013 NAFA festival in Bilbao, Spain. Tami now works in Berlin as freelance film director, editor and visual anthropologist.
