MA film distinguished at Jean Rouch International Film Festival

News from Jan 20, 2016

The Master film project “Persisting Dreams” about refugee aid workers on Lampedusa from Côme Ledésert, graduate of MA Visual and Media Anthropology, was distinguished at the Jean Rouch International Film Festival in Paris.

According to the jury, the award was granted for the following reason:

English Translation:

“The jury has decided to give special mention to the film “Persisting Dreams” by Côme Ledésert that was produced on the Italian island Lampedusa. We enjoyed the radicalness of the film, the humanity and honesty of the main character - fisherman Tony, the quality of the animation and montage, and the accuracy and originality of the viewpoint of an African migrant- the absent and yet affected protagonist of this story.”
